We would like to thanks all the crew at ARB in Osborne Park, especially Mike McDermott and Rick Long. The crew at ARB are incredibly professional and always bend over backwards to help. Their products are made for the toughest Australian conditions, are genuinely rugged and easily able to handle any situation anywhere in the world. They have an enviable reputation for reliability and toughness that has been earned over years of producing superior off-road products.
Their winch bars are simply the best you can get and they stock the best in winches, lighting, roof racks, tents, snorkels and battery systems plus what ever other 4wd item you might desire. http://www.arb.com.au/
What Kevin Falconbridge at Jordan Rover-Tech doesn’t know about Rovers hasn’t been invented yet. His help and advice has been invaluable in planning the trip and he has got Truckasaurus in A1 mechanical condition. We cannot thank Kevin enough for all his help and expertise. If you have a Rover and are in Western Australia see Kevin, he can fix anything. http://www.jordanrover-tech.com.au/
These guys at Rova Craft know all there is about tricking up your Land Rover, whether that’s a tourer or a radical competition rock crawler. They helped out with all the suspension, guards and rock sliders. Whatever part you need or mod you want to make if they don’t have it they can track it down. Rovers have great suspension and these guys make it better. Check out their web site and see for yourself. http://www.rovacraft.com.au/
Cooper has been building a reputation for great off road tyres for a few years now. They are incredibly well made, hardwearing and extremely puncture resistant (something that is as important when travelling overland through Africa as it is when travelling through the Aussie Outback). Having previously owned Cooper tyres, they were the natural choice for this trip. They are great tyres pure and simple. http://www.coopertires.com.au/default.htm
Jaram Fleet Equipment in Welshpool makes the Tracklander Tent-Topper roof rack. This rack is lightweight and incredibly strong – the perfect choice to carry our roof top tent.
I have used the Staun tyre deflators since they first came out several years ago and their Internal Beadlocks are as good a product. They are perfect for stopping your tyre popping off a rim when tyre pressures are reduced. They are a great product that allows you to drop your tyres down to a few psi that is handy for soft sand and large rocks. An added benefit is that they help reduce heat build up in the tyres, a bonus for safety. If you run aggressive mud tyres, they allow you to drop pressure to below 16psi for the soft sand without risk of popping a tyre meaning that you can float over the sand where the stronger sidewalls would not normally bag out to increase surface area contact with the sand. http://www.staunproducts.com/index.php
